OnlyVans - Chardonnay

I have to be honest. Having rented 3 campervans now, this was probably my least favourite. Having said that, OnlyVans were the best company Ive dealt with, super nice, relaxed, and very easy transaction. The van is just missing things, a long with some TLC. In 12 days we still didnt know how to open the van fully, when you try to lock/open it, only some of the doors lock/open so if we had a lapse in concentration on any of our days, wed of potentially lost some of our belongings due to it not locking properly with the key. The seal on the door is broke, not only does it let water in (luckily it only rained on the last night) the seal comes off everytime you use the cooker. That needs fixing, along with some new wiper blades and the handbrake, as you will roll on any slight incline. The speedometer is in an awkward place in the centre which cant be helped, but is somewhat difficult to see how fast youre going, along with fuel levels. A dust pan and brush would be really handy too, sponge and fairly liquid, things youd naturally expect a camper to have. On the plus side the van is very easy to use, the bed is a little tight, but comfy. Water tank and charging is great along with unlimited kms. It served us well in the grand scheme of things, just needs some love. Overall I would rate the van a 8/10. I would rent from only vans again, just a different vehicle :)

Overall we had a great experience in Chardonnay and with the OnlyVans team. The van had everything we needed for our week-long roadtrip. The fridge was spacious and kept our food cold the whole week. The storage was sufficient for our luggage. The bed was cozy but a comfortable size for two women, however, I could see how it would be tight for anyone taller or bigger. OnlyVans answered our messages promptly and was helpful upon pick-up. The awning was helpful on hot days but definitely requires two people to set up. The cutlery and dinnerware was sufficient and the collapsible sink and hose was super helpful for doing dishes on the go. Only concern with the van was that it could not be parked on any sort of incline, regardless of how small, or it would roll. Even with the emergency brake on, the van would roll when parked on any ground the was not fully flat. This led to some issues when trying to park at different sights in parks or even at one of the campgrounds which had an uneven surface. Just something to keep in mind as it startled us the first time it happened. Other than that, we had the best week exploring WA in this van and highly recommend for others!

I rented 'Chardonnay' last minute and had an amazing solo trip.  From booking to dropping the van off, there has always been someone at the end of the phone to help me with things i needed to understand about the van. With quick, informative, kind responses.  Having the van made it great to drive up the west coast and know there was a comfortable bed each night without having to put a tent up.  There are blinds in the van but i did cover these with towels so know one could see in at night.  Having the fridge freezer inside was a game changer when in the middle of nowhere, being able to cook and make hot drinks at any stop was great.  Having the awning was fabulous for shade, [the help of a 2nd person is highly recommended] but also possible to put down solo. Being on my own, it was so nice to feel safe with the doors locked at night.  There is lots of storage place under the bed, it comes with a table, chairs, cooker. There is also a little fan in there for hot days.  I loved my travellers in her so extended my trip, which was done quick and easy.  The downfall to having a van and not a 4x4 is there are some camp sites, beach and 4x4 tracks that cant be driven down in the van.  Overall i had an awesome trip.  Thank you Becks

Worked Well Off-Grid, But Lacked Subtlety & Storage We hired this van for a week-long WA road trip. While it worked well for off-grid camping and had a few standout features, there were some let-downs that are worth being aware of. *What we liked:* *Automatic transmission*- made it really easy to drive, even for long stretches. *Reliable battery power* the fridge stayed cold the whole trip without plugging in. Great for remote, unpowered campsites. *Handy water tank with a hand shower* perfect for quick dishwashing or outdoor showers on the go. *Unlimited kilometres*- gave us complete freedom to explore without mileage stress. *Comfortable bed* (for people under 170 cm). *Quick and smooth pickup and drop-off* no delays or long wait times. *What could be better:* *Van branding is misleading*- The photos on the listing dont show that its covered in large *Only Vans* advertising on all sides. It draws a lot of attention people stared and even made comments. If you prefer to blend in, this might not be for you. *Passenger seat is non-adjustable* and very upright, making long rides uncomfortable. *Drivers visor was broken* and the passenger one broke early in the trip, making late-day sun a challenge. *ABS warning light stayed on* throughout the journey didnt feel safe, especially in wet conditions. *Struggles to park on inclines* We had to carry a stone to use as a wheel chock because the van wouldnt hold well on slopes. *Very limited storage* most things had to be left on the floor or at the back. Bed not ideal for taller travellers Anyone over 170 cm might feel cramped. Final thoughts: This campervan is a decent option for budget-conscious, off-grid travel with low-maintenance needs. Just be prepared for its limitations in comfort, storage, and presentation. Would recommend only if you're okay with being visible on the road and dont mind a bit of a rougher setup.

We had a good trip in this van. Next time we would probably opt with another van just because of the make and model. My partner and I werent fans of gearbox or the windscreen wipers and indicator being opposite way round to most cars in Aus. But the actual layout of the van was good. However we also reckon it was more of a weekender set up. We had the van for two weeks and were constantly moving things around due to lack of internal storage in the van. All storage is under the bed and only accessible via the outside which was a bit of a challenge in the rain. This was maybe a fault on our end not hiring a larger van or checking details. Dispite this we managed and were comfortable enough. Our communication with the host was seamless, very quick reply times and helpful when needed.

Perfect! Great van, comfortable & easy to drive. Everything that I needed. "Plug n Play" :) Just hop in, stop for some groceries and away you go. One of the great things for me was the solar panel on the roof meaning that I never had to worry about remembering to get out a panel to put out in the sun each day. Oh and the bed! The mattress is just so comfortable! Jonathon is also easily contactable if you need. It's fun to see other "Only Vans" on the road, give them a honk :) Thanks Jonathon.

Handover was quick and informative and the extras of a chemical toilet and snorkel gear was incredibly helpful! The van was clean and functional for our trip. Bed is comfy, fridge ran like a dream and the Apple Car Play made navigating super simple. Jonathon is a great and reliable host. Would definitely book again with him. Only suggestion would be a collapsible sink as an addition to the basic pantry.

Jonathon was prompt and helpful., all good. The camplify charge for days is an over charge. I picked up 10am on a Sunday and returned 10am Tuesday...48 hours yet the days charge makes it 3 days. Wouldn't do it again through camplify...love the whole van experience tho

Absolutely amazing van. Travelled to Exmouth and back no issues at all smooth drive and extremely comfortable. The bed and the equipment provided was top notch. Fully recommend to anyone and definitely will be using again.
